The annual “Stuff the Bus” with United Way will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013, from 8:00am – 4:00pm, at Wal-Mart in Pocahontas. Last years’ collected supplies helped at least 30 students at Maynard Elementary School begin school with needed supplies. The supplies were also used by many students throughout the school year as their supplies ran out, and parents could not afford to replace them.
The United Way of Northeast Arkansas partners with KAIT8, TripleFM, and Crowley’s Ridge Development Council to bring about this event each year.
If you would like to volunteer to work a shift during “Stuff the Bus” - handing out flyers, greeting Wal-Mart customers, counting and boxing up supplies, loading and unloading the bus, etc. please contact Melinda Harris at 647-3519 or melinda.harris@maynard.k12.ar.us
Check out Maynard's rankings on Teacher/Student Ratio, College Readiness, Geometry and Literacy Proficiency. These ranks are based on other schools in Arkansas and nationally.
