Hello! It's that time again. It really seems to roll around faster every year. Here is the Back to School information for this year:
The Meet and Greet will be tomorrow (Tuesday) night from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
The School Board meeting will be tomorrow night at 6:00.
The Substitute training will be Wednesday morning at 10:00 in the high school library (if you didn't sub last year you will need a current application and background check), and.....
School starts next Monday, August 18~ hooray!!
School supply lists for elementary have been distributed. It is a little more complicated for high school; just basics should work for the first few days. If teachers require specific items they will let the students know in class. We also have a limited supply of donated items. If you need assistance with school supplies for elementary please contact Vicki Alphin at 647-3519. At high school contact Kim Waddell at 647-3505.
Open house for Maynard School District is tomorrow Tuesday, August 12th, 2014 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Hot dogs for everybody at the High School Cafeteria. Look forward to seeing you there.
The Maynard School District is accepting applications for two teacher’s aide positions at High School for the 2014-15 school year. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled. Applications may be printed from the district’s website (maynard.nesc.k12.ar.us) or picked up at the superintendent’s officeMonday- Thursday between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The Maynard School Board has an open position at this time. Any registered voter who is a legal resident of the Maynard School District and is interested in being appointed to fill this position must contact the District office at 870-647-3502 before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 28.
This year's annual Backpack 2 School will be held on August 2, 2014 from 9am-1pm at the Westridge Church of Christ. This event helps get children the supplies they need for the school year.
Child MUST be present to receive supplies. The first 600 children receive backpacks.

The Arkansas Department of Education notified Maynard School District that they had failed to meet standards for accreditation for the 2013-2014 school year and have been placed on Year One probation. The Maynard High School failed to list a secondary course offering on their master schedule. The issue has been corrected for the coming school year.
