Dear students, parents/guardians, & community members,

I am Lori Steimel, the elementary principal at Maynard Elementary.  I have profoundly enjoyed my first year serving as the principal at Maynard and have lots of plans for the upcoming school year!

Biography:  I was born and raised in Pocahontas, AR.  I grew up within a mile of my husband Joe Steimel and we have been married for 26 years.  We have three wonderful boys and two more that we call our own.  My life has been full of activity, learning and raising/influencing kids.  I received my bachelor's degree in secondary math and loved the opportunity to teach for 18 years.  I coached peewee soccer, basketball and helped with t-ball.  I hold a master's & specialist degree in education and became National Board Certified in 2017.  I believe that education is a window to possibilities and want each student to be the very best they can be.  

Moving Forward:  The 2021 school year was a challenge, but ME made strides toward reaching high-achieving goals.  The faculty and staff are proven to be compassionate, hard-working & resilient by providing continuous learning opportunities for students throughout a pandemic.  At ME, we take pride in building a foundation that will support everlasting student growth.  To prepare for another outstanding year, scheduling has been revamped to include more instructional minutes, teachers have designated collaboration times, a new literacy curriculum has been adopted, as well as math & character trait supports.  The faculty at ME is committed to the academic success of each student while providing an inclusive and supportive culture.  We plan to work in partnership with parents/guardians to advance students' academic and social success.  Feel free to contact us if you have any suggestions, questions or concerns.
